Martin Popplewell BSc(Arch) MA(LD) MBA MLI
Managing Director
Martin has been principal of a Landscape Practice for the past 25 years. Before setting up his Practice
in 1982 he held the post of Assistant Principal Landscape Architect with Scottish Special Housing Association
in their Glasgow office, working on housing and urban renewal projects throughout West Scotland. Martin
Popplewell trained as a Landscape Architect at Sheffield University and subsequently gained a Masters Degree
in Business Administration at Bradford University. In 1986 he was the winner of the Phoenix Award for
proposals relating to the Dayspring Gardens, Esholt Village.
Nick Snook MA BA (Hons) DipLA
Landscape Designer
Nick graduated from the University of Greenwich with a Graduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture in 1995 and
worked in a number of diverse companies before joining the practice as a Landscape Architect in June 2007.
Nick also holds an MA degree in Digital Media and Animation from the University of Teesside.
Sarah Pearson BA (Hons)
Landscape Assistant
Sarah is our most recent recruit having joined our team in July 2008 having graduated from the Leeds
Metropolitan University. During her time with us she will work on a wide variety of projects using Artisan -
our landscape-specific computer-aided design software.
Rebecca Bell
Secretary/PA
Becky also started work with us in 2008. Apart from undertaking all secretarial functions for the
technical staff, she performs a crucial role as office administrator, ensuring that office procedures are
adhered to throughout the various stages of each project.
Helen Holder
Financial Manager
Before joining the practice in July 2007, Helen was employed
as Finance Assistant by the University of York. She is responsible for assisting the Managing Director
in all aspects of financial administration including invoicing and credit control, together with special
responsibility for personnel matters.
Jeff Russon BSc
Technical Resources Manager
After graduating at the University of Utah in 1971 Jeff worked as a teacher in Britain and Botswana before
spending twenty years in the Horticulture industry. Jeff joined the practice in August 2001 and forms an
important part of the team taking responsibility for administration of all aspects of our computer system.
In addition Jeff has developed particular knowledge of Japanese Knotweed and, in liaison with landscape
designers in the office, offers advice to clients on its treatment.
