Stella South, Gateshead Persimmon Homes North East Ltd Part of the design team for a major housing development on the site of a former power station on the banks of the River Tyne, our work has included the preparation of a strategic Landscape Master Plan, full hard and soft external design (including Children's Play Areas and a formal park at the centre of the site) liaison with Nature Conservation interests regarding the retention of otter habitats along the river bank and co-ordination of a series of items of public sculpture throughout the development (1999 - date). St. James Boulevard, Gateshead Persimmon Homes North East Ltd A unique feature of this large housing scheme was our design of a formal pedestrian avenue linking the adjacent Metro station with the nearby Gateshead Sports Stadium (2000 -date). PFI Schools, York The Sewell Group We have been involved in this major schools building project from the outset - firstly acting on behalf of the local authority to set the landscape brief and then obtain on their behalf outline planning permission. Next we acted on behalf of one of the consortium of builders bidding for the works preparing detailed proposals for design and aftercare of the landscape works and successfully assisting them in winning the bid. The project is now on site - we will be engaged with implementation of the landscape works and liaison with the teachers and pupils on completion to ensure the site is tailored to their specific educational requirements (2003 - date). Abundant Life Centre, Bradford Abundant Life Church As part of the refurbishment of the church and grounds we prepared a design for a water feature and associated planting to act as a focal point for visitors to the site (2004/5). York Northern Gateway City of York Council Production of a masterplan for City of York Council to enable them to apply for a £2.5million bid to the Government's Capital Challenge Fund. The scheme aims to provide a Park & Ride scheme to the north of the City, together with a Country Park and water gardens with links for pedestrians and cyclists through to the City Centre through an environmentally sensitive riverside area. The scheme incorporates a site for a city farm, woodland and area for outdoor events (1996). Burniston Barracks, Scarborough Persimmon Homes (Yorkshire) Ltd and Tay Homes Design for the landscape of a housing development along the seafront, incorporating a range of housing types ranging from Housing Association to Cliff Top Apartments. The development is based around a series of courtyards, which act as a focus to the group of housing as well as providing pedestrian links through the site onto the cliff top open space. (1993-6). Piccadilly, York Persimmon Homes (Yorkshire) Ltd Design of the central courtyard for a series of apartments located within the City Walls. The courtyard is the central focus for the development, and provides an area for both active and passive recreational uses by residents. It incorporates a balance of hard materials and soft planting that provides a quiet green oasis away from the busy surrounding streets. Part of the planting is located above an underground car park necessitating specification of a lightweight planting medium. (1996-8). Lady Anne Court, Skeldergate, York KW Linfoot plc Landscape proposals for a courtyard and gardens in the grounds of a prestigious apartment development adjacent to the River Ouse in the centre of the City of York. The courtyard consists of formal walled enclosures with semi-mature tree planting and specimen shrubs, framed by a network of pergolas leading from the underground car park and the cycle store to the main building entrance. (1997-8).
